话说,我在奥地利公干的几天后,开始跟奥地利同事熟络起来,G 边工作边跟我说,“I was a bit nervous before you come,”我听了很好奇,“Nervous? Why nervous?”她说,“Don't know...I was a bit worried if I can explain the procedure (working procedures) to you correctly...”然后我又说,“Because you need to speak in English?...”她说,“Hmm..yeah, partly...also because I thought you (both of you) will be very strict at work...”
听她这样一说,我更不解,“Strict at work? why...haha...”“Don't know...I thought Asians are very strict at work...” 因为我们是亚洲人吗?“You never work with Asian?” “You don't even know an Asian before, do you?”她讪讪笑,“Yeah, first time, you, haha...”
然后我解释,“Hmm..maybe the Japanese are very strict at work..but not us, haha..”她忙说,“But when I saw smile on your faces on the first day we met, I know it must be fine...hahaha...”然后我又好奇,“Why do you think we are strict? Somebody told you? haha..”她说,“No...from the media I think..”“Media?? You mean the TV? haha... wrong information then, haha...”我说。
“But you are very focused at work,”她补充,“not strict, just focused...concentrate...”
