Anatomy of Love ---

不是Human Anatomy,不是Brain Anatomy (更加不是Gray's Anatomy,:P),是Anatomy of Love。

1) Lust - an intense longing.

Lust is driven by the sex hormones testosterone and oestrogen. These hormones as Helen Fisher says "get you out looking for anything". Appearance, smells, and other similar factors play a decisive role.

2) Attraction - an action that tends to draw people together.

This is the truly love-struck phase. When people fall in love they can think of nothing else. They might even lose their appetite and need less sleep, preferring to spend hours at a time daydreaming about their new lover.

3) Attachment - a bonding progression.

This is what takes over after the attraction stage, if a relationship is going to last. People couldn't possibly stay in the attraction stage forever, otherwise they'd never get any work done!

When a person has known a loved one for a long time, they develop a deeper attachment to their partner. According to current scientific understanding of love, this transition from the attraction to the attachment phase usually happens in about 30 months. After that time, the passion fades, changing love from consummate to companionate, or from romantic love to liking.

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus的有名的书,但我在这里不要介绍这本书,也不要介绍这本书的作者John Gray。

Helen Fisher。 The Anatomy of Love跟同样在1992年出版的Men are from Mars, women are from Venus是截然不同的作品。

Helen E. Fisher, PhD, is Research Professor and member of the Center forHuman Evolutionary Studies in the Department of Anthropology, Rutgers University. She has conducted extensive research on the evolution and future of human sex, love and marriage and gender differences in the brain andbehavior.

Anthropologist。。。
